In addition to acting for a number of Large Scale Voluntary transfers (LSVTs) since 1988 FARR’s consultancy team also offer strategic support for business undertaking Housing PFIs, other transfer vehicles such as Arms Length Management Organisations (ALMOs) and associations considering mergers, acquisitions or group structure arrangements.

  • A review of environmental transfer warranty exposures
  • Budgetary advice for business plan production
  • Risk assessment (including residual liabilities), analysis of self-insurance
  • options and comparative claims and excess levels between organisations
  • Off balance sheet protection against structural defects in transferred stock
  • Implementation of an insurance and risk management programme to meet Housing Corporation and funder requirements

We are also fully versed on managing the insurance tender process.  We can guide you from the initial stages of tender management such as agreeing your objectives and timetables through to understanding OJEU Procurement.

We will then assess all responses in accordance with your pre-determined criteria, taking into account any variant bids that may be received.  The results will then be analysed and incorporated into a report for consideration by your insurance procurement group covering:

  • An analysis of insurer and broker responses
  • A comparison of cover and premiums plus a cost / benefit analysis
  • Our recommendation as to the most economically advantageous tender
  • Commentary, where appropriate, on the optimum level of retained risk relative to insurance premium.
  • Our presence being part of the interview panel for any short-listed tenderers
